August’s 5th Birthday

We had so much fun celebrating our big boy turning 5! The festivities included everything a five-year-old boy could want: remote control toys, City Museum, superheroes, pizza & cake, and a birthday party! I think his birthday lived up to his expectations (he had been counting down the days for approximately 3 months:) 🤣

Helping mama make his birthday cake!
This cake was supposed to be in the shape of the number “5” but August claimed the 5 shaped cake pan wasn’t big enough:)
Best he would give me for his “last night of being 4” picture🤣
Happy Birthday! Balloons and Birthday Bear!
Went straight to the presents of course.
(Kid-appropriate) ax Dada got him for chopping wood in our woods but it lasted 2 seconds before it broke. I think it was maybe supposed to be just for show..
Super fast remote control car!
Pikachu from Aunt Jessica!
Requested donuts for his birthday breakfast. We lucked out—the donut shop was closing early when we got there the day before, but the owner took one look at August and let us in & gave us the donuts for free:)
Scarlett was happy with August’s breakfast choice.
Super 5 year old!
Ready for school to celebrate with friends!
But he had to open one more present first! A drone from Florida grandma & poppy!
Scarlett got to leave school early with August to go to the City Museum! It’s a crazy place but the kids had a blast!
This was the only tunnel mama went through—I did not enjoy the tiny, dark crawl spaces 😱
Tons of climbing contraptions outside the museum as well.
We even got the special wristbands to visit the roof—August was disappointed that he didn’t get to do one of the big slides, but there was a bunch of other stuff he could do so he was happy.
On the way to Noto for pizza!
Grandma and Poppy met us there too!
Cool books and legos from grandma & poppy!
Per usual, the kids mostly ate ice cream and a few crumbs of cake.
We forgot the candles at dinner (we compromised with the battery candles at the restaurant 😆) so we sang a more official happy birthday when we got home.

We had so much fun celebrating our boy! Happy 5th! We love you so! 💙💙💙💙💙
