What a fun and busy Christmas season we had this year! The kids were so excited to get to see Santa this year under more normal circumstances (3x!) and they both had their own cute Christmas performances at school. We also enjoyed some of our favorite holiday activities: Garden Glow, breakfast with Santa, and baking cookies, to name a few. Here’s some of the highlights from the holiday season!
Picking out our Christmas tree! Next year we are going to try something different and cut down our own tree:) When this place didn’t have candy canes per usual, that was the last straw;) Dinner out with grandma and poppy afterwards at Botanica! And then a stop at dierbergs to get candy canes since the tree lot failed:) Bernard made his return the next morning! Time to decorate the trees! August got to put up the star this year! Mailing letters to Santa! They happened to have pajama day at school this day. Bernard brought popcorn for movie night. Watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer:) Visiting the Oakland House in Affton to see Santa. August took 30 pics of me without me noticing🤦♀️ There was also a story and puppet show. Mrs. Claus handed out some homemade cookies. Scarlett’s Christmas performance at school! The kindergarten opened for the main play by singing a collection of Christmas songs. She was very reluctant to let me take her picture afterwards:) The next morning was August’s Christmas vignette. He played Joseph and it was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Luckily he was supposed to be sleeping—at first we weren’t sure😂 Singing a song afterwards:) His outfit needed some tailoring:) Oreos and hot cocoa at 9:30am after the play😂 Garden Glow! Bernard brought us a gingerbread barn to make! It was missing some roofing pieces, but otherwise turned out pretty good! We saw Santa again at West County Mall for some classic Santa photos—something we missed last year. Signing the nice list:) Visiting Santa again for breakfast with Santa! The breakfast was at the Whitmoor country club in Weldon Spring and was so nice. There was balloon animals and face painting as well. The face painter left when we were still in line, but luckily the kids were happy with their balloons. Scarlett did not authorize Santa and Mrs. Claus to come talk to her, especially without August there🤣 I was in charge of the treats & game for August’s Christmas party:) They made cute little milk carton gingerbread houses:) The game was a hit once the kiddos got the hang of it! August and his teacher Ms. Gaj❤️ I didn’t get to help with Scarlett’s party but here’s a screenshot I took from a video they took:) Sparring with their antlers. Not exactly Christmas related but we celebrated the winter solstice again this year by reading and making Sun bread! The cookie process begins;) The spritz cookies are so fun for the kids! And peanut butter blossoms too! Christmas Eve church service at Pathfinder with grandma, poppy, and aunt Lindsey. Saw some friends on the way out! Lasagna, rich & charlies salad, and focaccia for dinner! Watching It’s A Wonderful Life—August was very concerned when young George Bailey gets smacked in the ear by Mr. Gower. Getting cookies, milk, & carrots ready for Santa and his reindeer! Merry Christmas! Santa came! Santa even brought a new blankie for Oscar. Scarlett handed out her gifts she bought at the school Christmas shop:) Santa ate the cookies! Braided strawberry pastry for breakfast, upon August’s request for the last year:) Wait, there’s more! A whole sports complex down in the basement! She couldn’t wait to try her foot spa and nail polish! Lunch at grandma & poppy’s More presents! 😱
It was a very happy Christmas with the babies! Doesn’t get much better than this❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
