We had a great short getaway celebrating August’s 4th birthday at Clearwater Beach! August had a pretty perfect day that included balloons, pancakes, beach, a visit from Florida grandma and poppy, a delicious pizza dinner, and birthday cake (thanks, grandma!) It was such a fun way to celebrate our big 4 year old boy!
Before we left, August got to open some of his birthday presents! His face says it all:) And a new bike since his old bike has been slightly run over (a few times) 😬 We promptly removed the training wheels because this big kid doesn’t need em! Pure boy heaven. Boarding the plane! Always an exciting event for the kiddos. We arrived in Tampa around 6pm so it was getting late by the time we got to our place. Fortunately we were in walking distance to many restaurants, but unfortunately everywhere was pretty packed. Thankfully we found a little fast casual place where we ordered and waited only about 10 minutes for our food. Chips and salsa and vanilla milkshakes for the win! We can’t have a birthday without balloons and the Disney birthday song:) Scarlett picked this shark card out weeks ago for August and somehow kept it a secret for that long (she would get it out and show everyone who came over and then carefully put it back away:) Creature Power! Both August and Scarlett got a Wild Kratts creature power suit. Activate…cheetah power!! View from our condo! Four! 😍 And just like that, he is DEFINITELY four, no trace of three anywhere 😭 😎 Another Broken Egg Cafe was right outside our condo—we went two mornings in a row, and the kids weren’t complaining about having pancakes and waffles twice! First beach day! We went to the main beach and it was pretty crowded but the babes didn’t mind a bit!
Burying Dada😂 Sand baby Florida grandma and poppy arrived at the condo just as we were getting back from the beach! Helping poppy up😂 All cleaned up for his birthday dinner! We went to Cristino’s Coal Oven Pizza and August was in his element:) Double fisting An orange birthday cake made by grandma! He loved it! I gave him a big old piece and when he couldn’t finish it all he said “Grandma, I really like the cake that you made but my tummy is kind of full.” Such a sweet boy! More presents! Making orange juice with grandma:) Waffles AND some of grandma’s French toast= happy girl Beach Day 2! We drove about 10 minutes to Sand Key Park and it was so much quieter and nicer than the busy Clearwater beach. Well, in my opinion. The kids loved it either way! Beach baby😍 Scarlett was sharing her shells with other kids up and down the beach—August joined in and was handing out the “shark teeth” he had found. We had to wait much longer than we were told at this restaurant (Clear Sky Cafe) and the kids weren’t having it. Well, either were mama and dada to be honest. Actual mood. At least he enjoyed his pasta! 🤣 Random sidewalk chalk art with directions on how to take a silly pic:) Ice cream—a beach tradition. Since we had a later flight, we decided to go to Busch Gardens for a few hours. Some of the things we wanted to do were sold out or not open but the kids still had fun! Feeding kangaroos!
It was so nice to get away for a few days to celebrate our boy! Already planning our next beach getaway in my mind:)
