Florida 2020

We are so thankful we were still able to get away and make our annual Florida trip to see FL grandma and poppy and visit the beach. It was, perhaps, an even more welcome holiday this year with everything going on. For just a week, things felt just as joyful and light as in previous years. 👵 👴 🏝

Watching landings and takeoffs.
So happy to see Florida grandma and poppy!!!
Park fun with grandma and poppy.
Mini golf pros;)
We can’t visit The Villages without dinner at our favorite local restaurant, Thai Ruby.
And as always, followed by some Haagen Dazs.
Watching the grandparents boogie.
The kids had fun making fresh squeezed orange juice with grandma!
Happy Thanksgiving!
So nice to spend the holiday with family we don’t see often:)
August enjoyed the ham.
Always a favorite after-meal activity.
Meeting the neighbor’s dog named Buddy.
Beautiful walk with grandma and poppy.
Reading with grandma ❤️
Then it was off to the beach! This time, the kiddos wasted no time getting into the ocean.
We were too early to check into our rental house, but luckily we were located right across the street from the beach!
More cornhole while waiting for a table at dinner.
And a fun photo op with The Ugly Grouper (August’s face🤣)
View from our rooftop terrace.
Beach, Day 2!
Scarlett makes friends wherever she goes:)
Santa Gator
Beach House restaurant—best beach dining experience we’ve had with a front row seat to see the sunset:)
Beach Day 3: Chasing the seabirds.
Dinner at a fancy restaurant after taking family pictures on the beach.
Followed by (very, very blue) ice cream.
Blueberry Mickey Mouse pancakes on our last morning at the beach. The weather changed to rainy/chilly so we left that afternoon to head back to Orlando for our flight the next day.
We visited a small amusement park called Fun Spot—a much cheaper alternative to Disney but I don’t think the kiddos minded:)
First rollercoaster!! Both kiddos were quite caught off guard by how fast it went😂
Note their faces.
No! Not up the hill again!!
A much milder ride (the airplanes didn’t even go up and down like they were supposed to).
They waited VERY patiently to ride these bumper cars (there was only two available and the worker had to clean all the cars (there were bigger ones on the other side) and park them after each round of kids..so it took awhile😂
Worth the wait according to them!
And a fun hibachi dinner to end our trip!
It was someone’s birthday at our table so the kids were also given cupcakes—they weren’t complaining;)
Home again, home again, jiggety jig.

It was such a lovely trip! The babies were so happy to see their FL grandparents and get some beach time. We can’t wait until our next Florida adventure❤️
