Merry Christmas! The Allsup children had a wonderful holiday season this year. Here’s a recap of all the fun festivities leading up to Christmas Day.
First up: picking out our Christmas tree! We picked a huge 11-12 foot tree—luckily the tree lot where we bought it, Sullivan Farms, offered delivery.
Watching the men set up the big tree.
After the tree was set up, we headed to Pacific, MO to visit Santa’s reindeer—a yearly tradition.
The next morning, Bernard the Elf was back! He usually reappears once we have our Christmas tree. This year Scarlett remembered him and asked if he was going to come back when we got our tree—she also really enjoyed going to find his new spot every morning. August also really got a kick out of some of Bernard’s hiding places:)
For Scarlett’s preschool winter party, August and I got to visit her classroom to help make a gingerbread house!
Later that night we finally decorated our Christmas tree! Scarlett got to help put the star way up top again this year.
Scarlett also got her very own little tree in her room this year that she got to decorate.
This is the best picture she would allow me to get when it was all done.
After the kids’ first haircuts, we made a pit stop to visit Santa! Scarlett wasn’t sure about him at first, but he started talking to her while she was waiting in line and she warmed up to him a bit more. August on the other hand was not a fan.
The next morning we went to see Santa again at breakfast with Santa at the Zoo. Unfortunately it was a bit rainy this year so we didn’t get to see the animals afterwards, but we had a fun time at breakfast!
Holding hands on the way there😍
Mama had a lovely eye infection (hence the glasses).
Writing a letter to Santa!
Santa’s big entrance.
Waiting in line for food with Grandma and Poppy.
Double-fisting muffins:)
August wasn’t thrilled about the various characters visiting the table.
Scarlett loved it!
August doesn’t mind Santa when mama is there:)
We even got to eat lunch with the reindeer this year when they made a stop at our local Whole Foods!
The Wednesday night before Christmas we went to Garden Glow at Botanical Gardens. The weather was mild compared to the past few years and it was the least crowded we’ve seen it—always a fun time!
Putting a few more last minute decorations on the tree.
And our last big Santa event was riding the Polar Express train at Union Station! The kiddos had an absolute blast!
Yay! Hot cocoa!
The conductor punched each passenger’s first initial into their train ticket—Scarlett loved that:)
Scarlett got to help read The Polar Express book!
August really took to the lady in the bakers hat—he actually ran down the aisle to her at one point:) Both of them had so much fun dancing and marching up and down the aisles.
We made it to the North Pole! Santa—I know him!
Afterwards, we had a delicious dinner at Maggianos with grandma & poppy.
What a fun holiday season with the babies!
Stay tuned for the Christmas recap..
