3.5 Years

Scarlett is 3 and a half years old!

At 3.5 years, Scarlett:

Weighs: 32.5 lbs (50th)

Measures: 3ft 3 in (70th)

Loves:

Bear—he continues to be her single most prized possession and she has created an entire world for him with her imagination—I always enjoy hearing from her what Bear & Co (baby bunny, chewy, Ellie) have been up to
Preschool
Going to the park to swing “wery high” and go down the big slide
Imaginative play
Running around and going crazy with baby August
Play dough
Coloring
Doing activities
Literacy activity kits from the library that we recently discovered
Eating at the grocery store
PBJ
Simple card games
Collecting leaves (since flower season is over)
Her friend Anvi from preschool
Snacks
Singing along to songs
Having August as her shadow

Dislikes:

Sharing with August
Leaving August alone (and she has a few bite marks/scratches from him to show it)
When August doesn’t do what she wants him to do
Getting ready to go somewhere
Most boys—if a boy comes by her at the park (or god forbid, asks her to play) she doesn’t like it. Although she seems not to mind all the boys in her preschool class (there’s only one other girl)—but that’s probably because she’s used to them by now.

Scarlett Lately:

Had her first dental checkup and did wonderfully
Has the BEST imagination—it is quite the treat to watch her imaginary play and listen to her very detailed account of what she’s doing (especially when it involves Bear—recently she told me that Bear and Baby Bunny work at “Gymbo’s Safari” (which I can only assume is a mashup of Gymboree & Big Joel’s Safari we recently visited) and that Baby Bunny drives them both to work while Bear sleeps in the back because it’s a long drive😂)
Has been more defiant and oppositional lately and often doesn’t want to listen to mama/dada
Puts up a fight about what clothes/shoes/jacket/socks/everything she wears—mama needs to maybe loosen up a little about things not matching;)
Has recently shown somewhat of an interest in learning how to read
Likes to draw and color a lot more—probably because of preschool
As mentioned above, really into simple card games such as the match game and “stack the owls” (a card game that came in one of her Highlights magazines)
She still prefers to do her own thing than following what all the other kids are doing a lot of times (been that way since she was a baby)
Likes telling baby what to do and having him follow her around and do what she says
Likes to “show off” when she is the center of attention
