Thirteen Months

August is 13 months old!

At 13 months, August:

Weighs/Measures: (next checkup at 15 months)

Teeth: 4 (+ 2 more top teeth peeking through)

Loves:

His sissy
Playing with his toys—favorites include anything that Scarlett is playing with, the little black LEGO dog, his push cart, instruments, blue car, whale toy, blue bear, and balls
Feeding his food to mama/dada
Going for walks
Swinging and crawling through tunnels at the park
Climbing on anything he can
Crawling into and under things
Snuggling with mama
Being outside and looking out the window when he’s inside
Pushing his cart across the room and also sitting in it and being pushed by sissy
Playing at Gymboree
Bubbles
Bathtime with sissy
Playing in water—loved the beach and pool while we were on vacation
Finding and pointing to objects in books such as the dog in Going On a Bear Hunt and the mouse in Goodnight Moon and the That’s Not My… books
Ellie wubbanub

Dislikes:

Getting dressed/diaper changed especially at nighttime when tired/hungry
When sissy doesn’t share, takes something away from him, or plays too rough
Getting face wiped off after meals
Being put in his jumper—he eventually warms up, especially if sissy is nearby helping entertain him
Sore gummies
Ears popping from the airplane

What’s New:

Climbing on everything! Lately he likes to climb up on the chairs and stand up🙈
Likes to walk along his crib holding on to the rails and walking along the other furniture too
When you put him down he automatically stands on his feet now instead of sitting and likes to walk across the room holding onto your hands or using his walker
Has been doing downward dogs, I think in preparation to eventually stand up unassisted
Says “Uh-oh!” all the time, especially when he drops something
Starting to fight back a little when Scarlett takes toys away
Will at least try most foods (will put everything you put in front of him in his mouth—but doesn’t necessarily swallow everything:) and eats a good amount at each meal
Had his first trip to the beach and first time in a swimming pool while on vacation in Charleston
Will mimic words randomly while talking or reading to him
Takes baths in the big tub with sissy
Comically opens up his mouth really big like a baby bird when you give him a drink of your water or a spoonful of spoon lately

Other Activity:

Nurses 5-6x a day and eats 3 solid meals
Sleeps from about 8:15pm-8:15am, waking once in the night to nurse. He also usually wakes up around 7am to nurse and then goes back to sleep for another hour.
Likes to take two naps when he can, the first around 10:30 for 30-60 minutes, and the second at 2:00 for 2.5-3 hours.
