Scarlett had quite the third birthday! We went on a family vacation to Charleston, South Carolina, where Bunny got to spend her birthday on the beach, and then we had a small family birthday party for her the weekend after we got back. It was more of a birthweek than a birthday, and we had lots of fun celebrating our girl!
Scarlett’s Birthday in Charleston
It wouldn’t be an Allsup birthday without waking up to the Disney Happy Birthday song and balloons!
Purple tutu dress for the birthday girl!
What better way to kick off her birthday than eating her favorite meal of the day at the hotel’s four-star restaurant.
After breakfast, Scarlett opened a few presents that Mama was able to fit in her suitcase.
After presents, we headed over to Folly Beach. It was August’s first time at the beach and he loved playing (and eating) in the sand and splashing in the water! Scarlett was a little wary of the water at first but quickly warmed up to it and enjoyed walking and sitting in the water near the shore and splashing around.
Beach babies:)
After playing at the beach we stopped in Pier 101 for lunch and walked along the pier while we waited for our food.
A surprise from grandma and poppy Horvath was waiting for Scarlett for Scarlett when she woke up from nap! A birthday bear and cookies (which mama enjoyed:)
Scarlett also received a surprise from the hotel (we assume because the card said happy birthday and was signed by the hotel manager) including a birthday dog, chocolate cake, and sparkling cider.
All dressed up in her cherry party dress 🍒Enjoying the view from our hotel room.
Impromptu birthday photoshoot!
Scarlett said she wanted spaghetti for dinner so we found a good Italian place called Monza that had both pizza and pasta so Bunny was happy!
The only smiling picture of Scarlett and of course mama’s eyes are closed.
After dinner we stopped in Cupcakes Downsouth for cupcakes and to sing happy birthday to our birthday girl. Happy Birthday to Who, Happy Birthday to Who, Happy Birthday Dear Bunny, oh how we love you! A lady who was in the shop at the time and heard that it was Scarlett’s birthday bought her a pink tee shirt that says “Sweet as a Cupcake”—how nice is that?! It was a very sweet birthday surprise for our sweet bunny. When asked later what her favorite part of her birthday was, she said cupcakes (of course;).
Birthday Party
Since we were out of town on Scarlett’s birthday, we celebrated both Mother’s Day and Scarlett’s birthday on the same day (which is fitting, really) with family.
Grandma had lots of surprises for Scarlett (and August too)! Bubbles, water table, and baby pool make for the perfect hot and sunny day.
Scarlett’s next surprise from grandma and poppy was a butterfly kit to watch caterpillars change into butterflies through metamorphosis! Mama used to do this every year with her second graders so she was excited too:)
After lunch the water table was transformed into a sand table!
After nap Scarlett put on her favorite dress and was ready to 🎉 🎈 🎂
Uncle Max and Kristy got Scarlett a butterfly kite! We can’t wait to test it out at the park this week!
Scarlett requested sghetti for dinner so spaghetti & meatballs she got! Although she filled up on Dada’s delicious focaccia and barely had room for her spaghetti 🙈
Excited to see Aunt Lindsey:)
Aunt Lindsey brought Scarlett a neat sticker book and…
A sprinkler!!
Someone was keen to test it out:)
After getting sufficiently soaked it was birthday cake time!
Happy Birthday to Bunny!
Aunt Jessica, Uncle Greg, and Liam sung happy birthday to Scarlett from Chicago:)
Mama posing with her creation one last time before she cut its face up:)
Homemade rainbow sprinkle cake, yum!
After cake, Scarlett had one more present to open from mama & dada—Disney princess dress up clothes!
Then it was time to go home for one last big surprise before bedtime—Scarlett’s first big girl bed!
Happy 3rd Birthday to our sweetest baby girl! We love you so!
