At 7 months, August:

Weighs/Measures: next update @ 9 month checkup

Teeth: 0

Words: Dada

Loves:

  • Being sung to
  • Kissies
  • Grabbing everything within reach and usually trying to put it in his mouth (hair, faces, toys, blankets, books, clothes, etc)
  • Laying in bed with mama and dada in the morning
  • Laughing at sissy’s shenanigans
  • Screaming, whether happy or sad—he has about 5 different screams depending on mood
  • Exploring the world around him
  • Facing forward in the baby carrier so he can see all the sights and action
  • Interactive baby games such as itsy bitsy spider
  • Being read to and looking at all the pictures
  • Flying baby
  • Ellie wubbanub
  • Bathtime

Dislikes:

  • Loud noises (blender, hairdryer, etc)
  • Getting his nose suctioned
  • Sore gummies
  • Getting dressed
  • Being tired

What’s New:

  • Says “Dada” (and even sounds like “Hi Dada!” sometimes:)
  • Rolls/moves around nonstop—you put him down and he’s already clear across the room
  • Can sit up for about a minute before toppling over
  • Seeks out objects he wants and moves to reach for and grab it
  • Has tried a variety of solids the past month: avocado, sweet potato, butternut squash, egg yolk, homemade bone broth, banana (he likes broth and egg yolk the best so far, and just started warming up to butternut and avocado a little more)
  • Hardly ever falls asleep in his carrier anymore, prefers to explore the world—enjoys facing outward
  • Really locks in on Buddy, most likely wondering “What IS that?”

Eating: Nurses every 2-4 hours and eats two solid meals per day

Sleep: Goes to bed around 8:30pm and still wakes up twice to nurse before waking up for the day around 8:30am. Takes two naps: a short one around 10:30am lasting about an hour, and the other around 2pm lasting around 2 hours.

Nicknames: Goomy, Goomish, Gooma Goo, Goomeeshee, Baybuh, Babish, Screamy Creamy, Chuuba Wuuba, Wee Wee

…When you’re happy like a fool
Let it take you over
When everything is out
You gotta take it in

Oh this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life

Say oh, got this feeling that you can’t fight
Like this city is on fire tonight
This could really be a good life
A good, good life…
