August is five months old!

Weighs: 16 lbs 12 oz (65th percentile)

Measures: 25 inches (41st percentile)

Teeth: 0

What’s New:

•  Rolls both ways
• Can sit up well with support
• Awareness of Buddy
• Starting to nap in bassinet or bouncer more instead of with mama–he’s finally getting his own crib within the next week hopefully so he has more room to sprawl out and hopefully nap better
• A bit of a sleep regression this month–started waking 2-3 times during the night to nurse which he hasn’t done since before he was 2 months old, also only naps for short periods most days lately
• His blocked tear duct seems to be mostly gone
• Can find his wubbanub and put it back in his mouth and put his thumb inside like bunny used to do
• Has been moving his right arm up and down a lot lately
• Loud “crowing” for long periods
• Really teething lately–drooly, irritable some days, putting everything in his mouth–I think his bottom two teeth are coming soon
• Scratching different surfaces
• “Chewing gum” (chews on his gummies and looks like he’s chewing gum)

Nursing: Nurses every 2-3 hours during the day and usually once or twice during the night.

Sleep: Goes to bed between 8:00-9:00pm and has been waking once or twice to nurse before getting up for the day usually around 7:30-8:00am. During his sleep regression weeks he was waking sometimes 3x during the night around 11:30pm , 2:30am, and 5:30am). He takes about 3 short naps each day, usually one in the morning while out and about with Scarlett and mama in his carrier or car seat , in the afternoon when sissy is sleeping, and usually a short nap in the evening pre-bedtime. Once his crib comes we’re going to try to have more regularly scheduled naps.
