24 Months

Scarlett Rose is 24 months!

At 24 months, Scarlett:

Weighs: 27 lbs (62%ile)

Measures: 34.5 inches (68%ile)

Loves:

Her new baby brother
Stuffed animals
Singing along to her favorite songs
Playing outside
Breakfast
Twist and Shout by The Beatles
Picking flowers
Playdough
Going for walks
Getting the mail
Going places with mama and dada
Wearing cute clothes and declaring “cute!”
The nappy song
Being held, especially before nap and bedtime
Kissies & Huggies
Raisins (ragins), dried mango (mago), blueberries (booboos), granola/energy bars (bard), waffles, pbj, rice, spaghetti, most veggies

Dislikes:

Going to sleep without extra snuggles, hugs, & kisses
When dada/mama are holding baby and can’t pick her up
When you take the phone away from her after she was listening to one of her songs/looking at pictures & videos

What’s New:

Scarlett is a big sissy!!! And an amazing one at that. The moment she met him, she went right up and gave him a kiss:) She loves to give Baby August kissies and go check on him to make sure he’s ok. “That’s ok, baby” she says when he’s crying and gently pats him. She also loves to help mama by getting a new diaper/clothing for him when mama’s changing him, helps push the bassinet from one room to another, goes and gets a burp cloth if baby spits up, and has just been so kind and patient with her brother even when it’s a little tough.
Vocabulary still continues to increase and says up to 7-8 word sentences. Her pronunciation and expression/intonation when speaking is also very strong.
Can count objects up to 5. Can almost count to 10 but usually skips a number or two.
Knows all her colors well (except red)
Can recite the alphabet and can identify a lot of the letters
Getting a little more demanding and particular about things (i.e. what she eats, if she wants mama vs dada, etc)
Getting better at going up & down stairs
Runs everywhere
Plays independently a lot of the time
After about a month of improvement during nap/bedtime, has regressed back to needing mama/dada to come back in to change her diaper (even when it doesn’t need to be changed), give more kisses/hugs, and rock her side to side while humming the “nappy song” before settling down.
