August is 3 weeks old today!
This Week, August:
- Nursing: A lot of cluster feeding this week (nursing every hour or more) especially in the morning and evening, and during these periods he was pretty fussy unless he was nursing. When not clustering, he nursed every 2 hours or so and seems to prefer shorter sessions, nursing for 10 minutes or less on one side, taking a short break to be burped or doze off, and then nursing on the other side about 10-30 minutes later
- Sleep: Still sleeps most of the day with longest awake periods in the morning and evening (which coincides with him nursing more often). At night, mama nurses him before bed around 11:30pm, and then he wakes up roughly every 2-3 hours to nurse usually sometime around 2:30am, 5:30am, and 7:30am. Most of the time goes right back down after being fed & changed, but sometimes needs some extra time to be burped and held upright before going back to sleep.
- Seems to have really beefed up this week! (see above:)
- Played on his alphabet zoo playmat for the first time, and even batted monkey a few times!
- Enjoyed lots of tummy time
- Took his first real bath in the baby tubby!
- Usually calms down immediately when getting diaper changed (loves being naked and kicking and stretching his arms) or being lifted up and down on a slight incline with one hand supporting his bottom and the other supporting his head
