Two Weeks

August is two weeks old today!

This week, August:

Is still a sleepy bear and sleeps most of the day, but has had more wakeful periods than last week. He’s most consistently awake in the evening around the time we’re getting Scarlett ready for bed and eating dinner.
Rolled from back to tummy! Mama put him in Scarlett’s crib while I changed her diaper–he immediately rolled on his side and when I looked again, he was on his tummy😮 Most likely a fluke (I hope!)
Cried more this week, especially when gassy. He will sometimes burp on his own, but it’s been tricky for mama and dada to try to get a burp.
Nurses every 2-3 hours on average (day and nighttime) and will often switch sides 2-3x (with short breaks in between) before he’s done.
Smiles a lot in his sleep, and even sometimes when he’s awake
Makes the cutest little baby noises (chirping, squawking, “ahhh” sigh, heavy breathing when napping sometimes, grumbly sound when disturbed while sleeping)
Tolerates tummy time a lot better than big sissy did–really moves his legs and arms and lifts his head a little
Has pretty good neck strength and can lift head a little

Memories from August’s 2nd week:

On Friday morning we had family pictures taken at home by the photographer who did our pictures last year when Scarlett was 9 months old. Can’t wait to share the photos!

Later that day, August met Uncle Matt, Aunt Kelli, Collin, and Molly for the first time!
