We had such a nice time on our winter getaway to Scottsdale this January. It was our last family vacation as a family of three, and Scarlett had a blast!
Scarlett did great on the plane ride to Arizona, even though she didn’t sleep at all–too much excitement!
When we got to the Montelucia, the bellboy told us it was currently rabbit season in Scottsdale (of course it was!) Our Bunny loved walking around and looking for the bunnies while we were there. There were a few patches of grass right outside our room that almost always had a bunny or two in the afternoon/evening for Scarlett to try to catch:)
Dinner at True Food Kitchen our first night, one of our favorite places to eat when we visit. I think Scarlett likes it, too:)
Breakfast at Prado (the resort’s restaurant) our first morning.
Walking around the resort a bit after breakfast.
Scarlett wasn’t a fan of the hammock.
Then we went to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve for a short hike.
Ready for naptime.
A few pictures of the scenery before dinner at Prado.
These pictures sum up Scarlett during the trip–super pumped about everything! She was also happy that Bear got to come everywhere with her.
Too sunny, dada! (not a bad problem to have)
After breakfast, we set out for Papago Park and the Phoenix Zoo.
Looking at the elephant (ellie) at the Phoenix zoo. Even though it was a bit expensive (we’re used to our free zoo) we liked that we were able to see more animals in a short period of time, whereas the St. Louis zoo is pretty spread out.
Before the zoo, we did a short hike up the mountain at the nearby Papago Park.
For dinner that night we ate at True Food Kitchen again, and then stopped at the gelato shop next door afterwards for a yummy treat.
The next morning, we checked out of the Montelucia and met Uncle Dan and Aunt Rose out at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve again to take a few family pictures.
Afterwards, we met Aunt Jeanine for lunch at a cute little spot on the golf course where she lives.
After lunch, we checked into the Phoenician, where we would be staying for our last night.
On our last day, we ate breakfast at the hotel and then took Scarlett to test out the baby pool. Unfortunately, she splashed herself in the face trying to get to mama, and didn’t want anything to do with the pool after that.
So we hung out by the pool, had lunch, and soaked up all the sun we could.
After Scarlett’s nap, we checked out of the hotel and headed to the new Scottsdale aquarium.
Scarlett would be a Gentoo if she was a penguin.
After seeing the fishies, we stopped for an early dinner at our other Scottsdale favorite, Olive & Ivy, before heading to the airport.
Watching the planes outside the window.
Scarlett loved riding in her car seat, until we got on the plane;)
Our flight wasn’t until 7:05pm and I thought for sure Scarlett would fall asleep, but sure enough she didn’t! Luckily the flight was an hour shorter than the way there, and Scarlett did perfectly fine as long as she was entertained:) The nice flight attendant even gave us a model plane to make at one point, which Bunny enjoyed.
It was such a fun trip and one that I’ll always remember–just Mama, Dada, and our Bunny❤
