Scarlett had a wonderful holiday season this year!
It started with going to pick out our Christmas tree.
And putting up the Christmas decorations.
And our annual Christmas tradition of going to see the reindeer.
The week before Christmas, Scarlett went to see Santa at Plaza Frontenac. She was not too pleased when mama handed her to a strange bearded man and walked away.
The very next day we went to have breakfast with Santa at Eckerts. Scarlett was still wary of Santa, and while she was excited whenever he came near the table, she preferred him to keep a healthy distance.
A few days before Christmas, we went to the Garden Glow at Botanical Gardens. Mama and Dada drank hot cocoa and Bunny enjoyed a snack in her stroller as we walked around and looked at the pretty lights. We can’t wait to go again next year!
The day before Christmas Eve, we met Grandma and Pappi at Union Station for the Polar Express! Scarlett wasn’t so sure what to make of the train ride with the overly enthusiastic elf lady, children dancing in the aisles, and a visit from Santa, but she did enjoy dancing to the music on top of the table:) She also loved the light show during dinner at the hotel afterwards! The next day on Christmas Eve,
Scarlett helped Mama make Christmas cookies all day and then we met Grandma, Pappi, Uncle Max, and Kristy for dinner at Thai House in Columbia, IL. Before bed, Mama read The Polar Express, although Bunny wasn’t too thrilled to sit still for it this year:)
Before we knew it, it was Christmas morning! Scarlett was excited to see the presents under the tree.
After breakfast, it was time to open those presents!
Then it was over to Grandma and Pappi ‘s house to continue celebrating Christmas Day with more presents and a delicious lunch.
Merry Christmas, Scarlett Rose! You’re the best gift we’ve ever received!
