Scarlett is 19 months old!
At 19 months, Scarlett:
Teeth: 16
Loves:
- Bear
- Eating–still likes most things & eats a lot
- Books–current favorites: The Mitten, The Saggy Baggy Elephant, Kitten’s First Full Moon, Santa’s Workshop, Guess How Much I Love You (has to be acted out)
- ABC song on YouTube (“Cs” as Scarlett calls it)
- Rocks
- The moon–still look for it each night before bed
- Puzzles & shape sorters
- Finding Bernard the elf each morning and laughing at him throughout the day
- Getting “cozy” (covering up with a blanket) to read books with mama/dada
- Playing with the laundry baskets
- Christmas music (kicks feet in carseat almost the whole car ride when listening to Christmas music)
- Looking at “pickies” (pictures) of herself on Dada’s phone
Dislikes:
- When you eat something in front of her and don’t share
- When she doesn’t get 98% of your attention
- When she wants to listen to a particular song and you don’t let her hold the phone to “listen” to it
What’s New:
- Saying a lot more simple 2-3 word sentences
- Vocabulary continues to increase pretty much daily, includes a lot more verbs and adjectives instead of mostly nouns
- Her interest in Buddy has increased a lot lately–wants to pet him and give him kisses, and often calls for him when he’s out of the room
- Can play independently for longer periods of time instead of always needing mama to interact
- Ability to focus on a task until completion with increased perseverance instead of immediately giving to mama/dada to do if she doesn’t get it right away
- Starting to count (says one and two to describe if she has one or two objects) and will point at things one by one and say “one, one, one”
- Can identify some shapes by name–star, heart, triangle
- Wants to be able to walk around at stores instead of being in cart/carried the whole time (this would be fine if her main objective wasn’t getting into everything on the shelves)
Pictures from Scarlett’s 19th month:
Nothing cuter than a baby in overalls!
Farmer Bunny
Listening to the ocean. After mama showed her this, she loves bringing the shell to your ear to let you listen to the ocean too (often pointy side up:)
Waiting to see the doctor for her 18-month checkup.
Big girl! First time on the big scale.
Still a healthy girl!
Mama and Bunny in their matching “puffies”
Waiting for breakfast at Katie Bee’s
Enjoying the last nice days of fall🍂
Playing the match game at Grandma & Poppy’s.
Ponytail girl (or just “tail” as Scarlett says)
Hungry Bunny
First time jumping in a leaf pile. She wasn’t impressed.
Loves doing all three of her puzzles at once.
Playing at Grandma and Poppy’s.
Waiting for dada to finish checking out at the grocery store.
Loves her new soft shirt and pants from Grandma!
Watching “C’s” with dada.
Believe it or not, Dada is actually pretty good at “tails”.
She carried all of her animals over one at a time to play the piano for mama.
Watching mama shear dog.
Greeting dada at the door.
All bundled up for a chilly walk.
Getting a front row seat at storytime.
Scarlett got to spend a whole day with Liam and Aunt Jessica while mama was subbing–so much fun!
Matching coats:)
Celebrating mama’s 31st birthday at Maggiano’s.
Scarlett was a millisecond away from throwing mama’s phone off the balcony at one point–luckily dada caught her in time!
No mama, I prefer to walk on my own.
Dressing dog.
Visiting her kin.
Doing a sorting activity.
Lunch at Katie Bee’s with mama.
Coloring after storytime at Barnes and Noble.
Visit to the zoo on the last upper 70s day of the year.
If you look closely you can see the gorillas in the background.
Up close with the giraffes!
The zoo has some cool leaves apparently, too.
Fun at Gymboree!
Brunch with Uncle Matt, Aunt Kelli, Molly, and Collin
Another visit with the bunnies:)
Lunch in the car on the way to see her baby brother on the ultrasound!
Baskets are so fun!

Scarlett and baby Luna:)
Followed by Thanksgiving at Grandma & Poppy’s.
Helping mama bake Grandma’s birthday cake!
This “wawa” is delicious!
Picking out our Christmas tree!
Everytime she sees it, she points and yells “tree!”
Visiting the goats at Willoughby.
Helping put up the Christmas decorations.
Scarlett is getting so good at listening to the whole story during storytime! She switches seats a few times, but hey it’s an improvement.
Eating a whole Jimmy John’s sandwich.
Putting the final touches on the tree.
We love our Bunny!!!
