Scarlett is 14 months old!
Weighs/Measures: Find out next month
Teeth: 8 (with some molars on the way)
Words: Mama, Dada, dog, book, ball, bow, bye, hi, no, bib, whoa, duck (dug), bug (bird), nana (banana), belba (bellybutton), night-night (nigh-nigh), boog (booger)
Loves:
- Being bounced (“ba” as she calls it)
- Waving and saying hi to EVERYONE and everything
- Taking things out of a container and putting them back in again, and vice versa, repeat.
- Giving kissies and hugs
- Looking at her books & bringing them to mama to read to her
- Being outdoors
- Cruising along anything she can hold onto
- Mama’s wallet
- Being chased
- Playing peek-a-boo
- Mealtimes–still eats pretty much anything we put in front of her (hoping this continues!)
Dislikes:
- Sitting still
- Being held for long periods–tries to jump onto the floor or dive at something she wants
- Car rides/stroller rides longer than 20 minutes (sometimes)
- Getting changed
- Bows in her hair
What’s New:
- While still not walking, she will now let you take her hands and walk her around, whereas before she would lift her legs or sit down when you tried to do this.
- Will come lie down with mama and dada for a few seconds in the morning and say “mmmm” like she does before giving kissies
- Tries to rip out bow/hair tie when upset, even when there isn’t one in her hair
- Tries to feed mama/dada/dog her food during mealtimes
- Spider-monkeys (clings) to you when you try to put her down and she doesn’t want you to
- Having her snack cup has helped occupy her during shopping trips:)
- Very strong receptive language–understands so much more than she can say, and her understanding seems to increase by the day.
- Can focus on tasks for longer periods, increased perseverance–such as putting shapes into her shape sorter and not giving up and moving onto something else when she doesn’t get the shape in right away
Other Activity:
- Still nurses about 5x/day
- Still takes two naps a day most days, around 11am and 4pm. However, will sometimes only take one long nap, especially if we have something going on in the middle of the day.
- Goes to bed around 8:30pm and wakes up around 8:30am,waking once early morning to nurse/get diaper changed
