June 24-June 30, 2016
Sunshine on her perfect baby skin, little button nose breathing in the salty ocean air, sand between her tiny toes (and in her hair, mouth, and everywhere in between). Scarlett had a blast during her first trip to the beach!
Getting some wiggles out at the gate before boarding the plane to Florida.
Bunny decided to skip her afternoon nap on the plane, but luckily mama was prepared with a bag full of tricks to entertain her:) She also enjoyed waving to everyone on the plane and looking over the seat at the ladies seated behind us (thankfully they were very friendly!)
More waiting to get the rental car–mama’s wallet for the win!
We arrived at our condo around 8:30pm, so after a bath in her new whale tubby, it was time for bed.
Scarlett slept really well after only having one nap the day before, and was pumped to start the day at this new and exciting place!
Breakfast, a walk to the canal behind our condo, and a quick preview of the beach with dada while mama was at The Bean with grandma and grandpa.
When mama got back, we visited with grandma and grandpa Allsup & Molly and Collin for a bit. Then it was time for Scarlett’s first beach adventure!
After a good long nap, cousin Liam, Aunt Jessica, and Uncle Greg had arrived! Scarlett and Liam had so much fun playing together and sharing snacks:)
Then grandma and grandpa Allsup and Molly and Collin joined us for dinner, followed by entertainment courtesy of Scarlett Rose.
Day 2 began with breakfast at The Bean with mama and dada.
And then it was time to hit the beach again–this time with Liam!
From swimsuit to birthday suit, after a quick rinse in the tub Bunny enjoyed a bite to eat before naptime.
Later that evening, we all met up again for dinner at the Island Cow–one of our favorites due to the extensive menu. Scarlett loved eating with her cousin and people watching during dinner!
She was excited to see a dog (not pictured) on vacation!
Family pic in the same spot mama and dada took a picture after they got engaged in Sanibel 5 years ago:)
A quick stop at Jerry’s to see the birds (or “bug” as Scarlett calls them).
Hanging out with the family for a bit after dinner.
Day 3 began with breakfast/coffee at Bennett’s (a new-to-us coffee shop) and then another beach baby day.
We had dinner at an Italian restaurant called Matzaluna, and then Bunny had her first taste of ice cream at Pinocchio’s.
She wasn’t so sure about ice cream at first.
Day 4 at the beach! Scarlett and Liam loved playing in the sand.
That evening, we made the trip to Captiva to have dinner at the Mucky Duck (a Horvath family tradition).
Scarlett and Aunt Jess!
Hanging out before dinner.
Family pics on the beach
Last day at the beach:(
Family dinner at Il Cielo–our newfound favorite restaurant on the island!
Then a visit with grandma & grandpa Allsup and Molly and Collin for ice cream.
The next day it was time to go back home to St. Louis.
Until next time, Sanibel.
