Eleven Months

Scarlett is 11 months old!

At 11 months, Scarlett:

Weighs/Measures: find out at 12-month checkup

Teeth: 4 (plus 2 more slowly coming in up top)

Loves:

Crawling all over the house and exploring everything, especially things she shouldn’t
Pulling up on furniture and seeing what she can get into/pull off
Pointing at everything
When mama “eats” her finger
Ripping off mama’s glasses in the morning
Feeding herself finger foods (loves banana, berries, yogurt, peas, carrots, sweet potato, and most veggies)
Watching cars go by outside as mama names each one
Going into the other room and closing the door/waiting for mama or dada to come get me
When dada crawls to her really fast panting like she does
When mama comes and gets her after naptime and says “is there a bunny in here?”
Singing and dancing with mama and dada
Taking sips of water from her sippy cup or mama/dada’s cup
Books, especially Are You My Mother?, First 100 Words, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Saggy Baggy Elephant, Where’s Ellie, Pat the Bunny, and her family photo album
Going for family walks in the Ergo carrier
Ripping up paper
Bubbles

Dislikes:

Being put back down after rolling around/sitting up on changing table
Bibs
Getting her teeth brushed
Getting her nails clipped (used to not mind teeth brushing and nail clipping, but that’s changed this past month)
Being stopped from getting into something she wants that she shouldn’t
Going too long without a nap

What’s New:

Pulling up to standing
Cruising on the furniture
Starting to share her toys and food during mealtime
“Noodling” and bowing out her body when she doesn’t want to be picked up
In addition to dog, mama, and dada, has started saying no/no-no, yeah, and ball (usually comes out as “ba” but sometimes gets the l sound)
Interacting with her stuffed animals and giving them kissies
Helping turn the pages when mama/dada reads to her
“Singing” along to songs, especially “Baba Ann”
Grumbling like Ralphie’s brother when she eats
Seeing more and more of her little personality coming out each day–she’s a sweetie but she is also very stinky at times! 🙂 She gives kissies and hundreds of smiles, and also enjoys blowing raspberries and evading mama and dada’s grasp; she laughs and giggles at silly and random things and is happy-go-larky most of the day, and also can get upset when something she wants is taken away from her or she is stopped from doing something she shouldn’t (i.e. rolling off the changing table)–our Bunny has many facets and we absolutely love them all!

Other Activity:

Nurses approximately 6x/day
Eats 3 meals/day
Takes 2 naps each day, one around noon and the other around 4:00, each lasting somewhere between 1-2 hours (the first nap is usually the longer one)
Sleeps from about 8:30pm-9:30am-ish, waking once within that time-frame to nurse (still goes right back to sleep after feeding/diaper change)
