Scarlett is 10 months old!

At 10 months, Scarlett…

Weighs/Measures: won’t know until 12-month checkup

Teeth: 4

Loves:

• Being around people
• Exploring
• Pointing
• Clapping
• Waving at people
• Inhaling/squealing at the same time (don’t know how else to describe it:)
• Crawling everywhere!
• Playing with things that aren’t toys: remote, stereo, door stopper, gate, coffee table beams, combs, pens, glasses (and ripping them off mama’s face) vitamin D bottle, etc.
•  Books!
• Watching cars go by out the window
• Gymboree
• Dancing with mama to music–lately we’ve been enjoying Taylor Swift & Adele

Dislikes:

• Bibs
• Getting face wiped after meals
• Lying still on the changing table
• Getting dressed
• Being held by anyone but mommy at times
• Sitting still/being confined to one spot (pictures are becoming increasingly difficult!)
• Anything being taken away from her
• When Mama or Dada walks away/goes in another room (especially mama)

What’s New:

• Hands and knees crawling (as opposed to backwards & army crawling in previous months)
• Pointing to communicate her needs and wants (i.e. points at cup for a drink, bowl for more food, toy that she wants, etc)
• Has mastered her pincher grasp when eating/picking up small objects
• Flipping over/sitting up/grabbing for things on dresser while getting diaper changed
• Crying when something is taken away from her
• With increased mobility comes increased curiosity–wants to explore everywhere she can get to and touch everything within her reach
• Pulls up to kneeling on furniture
• Eating more finger foods and less pureed food
• Started Gymboree classes
• Drinking water from a cup with help, or sippy cup on her own
• Expressions of joy/anger/sadness more pronounced in general

Other Activity:

• Nurses approx. 6x/day
• Eats 3 solid meals each day
• Goes to bed around 7:30pm, wakes around 6:30am to nurse, goes back to sleep until around 9am
• Two naps each day, around noon & 4:00pm, each lasting anywhere from 30 min-2 hours (usually 1 short & 1 longer)

Since the day they got married
He’d been praying for a little baby boy
Someone he could take fishing

He could already see him holding that trophy
Taking his team to state
But when the nurse came in with a little pink blanket
