My hair was starting to grow into my eyes so mommy gave me my first little trim while I ate dinner and watched my first ever tv show–Mickey’s Clubhouse!

I am 42 weeks old today! 

 This week I…

• Went to Chicago for Liam’s first birthday!
• One of my top teeth almost fully emerged 
• Had a cold:( (mama & dada too)
• Started pointing at everything 
• Starting to pull myself to a kneeling position on furniture, but not yet pulling to standing on my own 
• Love standing on the couch with mama’s help
• Have recently been enjoying watching cars go by out the window 
• Moving nonstop! Mama and dada are getting a baby fence to help me from getting into things I shouldn’t 
• Lately I’ve been preferring to work on my pincher grasp to pick up random bits of fuzz and debris on the floor instead of during mealtime 
• Lately prefer moving around on the floor to being held
• Started pulling on mama or dada’s pants when I do want to be picked up 
• Absolutely refuse to lay still on my changing table, preferring to sit up or roll over onto hands & knees and try to pull things off the dresser–and I get really mad when mama says no & lays me back down

I’m 41 weeks old today!

This week I…

• Stopped army crawling almost altogether in exchange for traditional crawling 
• Still working on those top teeth–one of them comes out a little more each day
• Tried out The Little Gym (we think we like Gymboree better)
• Getting better at standing with support (the couch is especially good for practice)
• Had a family photoshoot at the Botanical Gardens
• Celebrated my first Valentine’s Day! I was mama and dada’s favorite, sweetest little Valentine ever!

 Most of the kids were older since it was the 10-19 month class, and most were walking

I am 40 weeks old today, which means I’ve been on the outside as long as I was on the inside:) 

40 weeks in: 

40 weeks out: 

This week I...

• Turned 9 months old!
• Had my 9-month checkup–18 lbs 8 oz, 28.7 inches (no shots this time, yay!)
• Still working on my top tooth 
• Started regular crawling at times but still mostly army crawling 
• Will seek out mama and daddy by crawling over to them if they’re in the other room
• Attended my first Super Bowl party

Scarlett is 9 months old!

At 9 months, Scarlett…

Weighs: 18 lbs, 8 oz

Measures: 28.7 inches

Teeth: 2 (plus 1 peeking through up top)

Loves:

• Books!
• Music
• Bathtime (with banana toothbrush)
• Clapping
• Dancing–especially to Mashed Potato and Barbara Ann
• Hugs and Kissies–especially tummy kissies
• When mama and dada echo her baby language, especially “ahh!”
• Sips of mama and dada’s smoothie
• Going to the store or anywhere with a lot of people/sights
• Yogurt with berries

Dislikes:

• Getting diaper changed
• Getting face wiped after meals
• Being held by anyone by mama at times
• Getting dressed
• Bananas

What’s New:

• Army crawling forward
• Crawling long distances to get something she wants
• Climbing up mama to be held
• Waving
• Pushing up to sitting
• Mama separation anxiety
• Saying more sounds that resemble words
• Demanding sips from mama and daddy’s cup
• Throwing things to the ground on purpose (spoon, books)

Other Activity:

• Eats 3 solid meals each day
• Nurses approximately 6x/day
• Sleeping: Goes to bed around 7:30-8pm and around 8:30-9:30am–recently stopped waking up in the middle of the night to nurse, but will sometimes wake up around 6 or 7 to nurse and then go back to sleep for a few more hours
• 2 naps a day typically lasting anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours

I am 39 weeks old today!

   
 
This week I…

• Have a top tooth ready to come in–it’s peeking through!
• Started waving!
• Had my 2nd visit to the zoo to see the giraffes and zebras
• Have been pushing myself up to sitting nonstop
• Army crawling long distances 
• Starting to get over mommy separation anxiety
