I’m 25 weeks old today!

  
This week I:

• Am babbling (bababa, lalala, etc), blowing bubbles (bubbies) and squealing/shrieking nonstop–I’m experimenting with volume and octave changes:)
• Started sleeping in the nursery a few nights a week (slowly transitioning)
• Know when it’s time for naptime/bedtime and will often start crying–usually not for long, my thumbie &/or wubbanub help calm me pretty easily 
• Often stay awake during stroller walks/short car rides now, whereas before I would always fall asleep 
• Keep improving my sitting skills & can sit on my own for a few seconds

I’m 24 weeks old today!

  
This week I…

• Am really into grabbing faces when being held–in fact, mama & me have matching nose scratches from my baby claws (that mama trims almost everyday)
• Continue to get better at sitting with little support 
• Squealed all day today in a little girl voice instead of a baby voice
• Tried out sleeping in the nursery tonight for the first time

I am 23 weeks old today!

  
This week I…

• Started resisting bedtime a bit–I’ve been getting a little weepy when it’s time to turn in for the night, and it’s been taking me awhile to settle down (but I’m all smiles up until bed!😀)
• I started chewing gum (I’m chewing my gums, so I guess technically I am chewing gum😉)
• Started throwing Sophie while in my car seat to see what happens

I’m 22 weeks old today!

  
This week I turned 5 months old!

Scarlett is five months old!

At 5 months, Scarlett:

Loves:

• Grabbing mama & dada’s faces and hair
• Splashing in the tub
• Rolling all over the place
• Blowing bubbles
• Laughing/squealing
• Kicking my chubby legs
• Tummy kisses
• Listening to music/being sung to/dancing to music with mama
• Staring at Buddy
• Reading books with mama & dada
• Watching baby videos on YouTube
• Walking Buddy at the park with mama
• Singing when I wake up (often accompanied by toots)
• Sophie the giraffe
• Standing on my legs with mama or dada’s help
• Lifting up my legs/putting toes in my mouth
• Being carried around

Dislikes:

• Being abruptly woken up by Buddy barking
• Sore gummies
• Being in one spot for too long
• Being sleepy

What’s New:

• Naps in crib (wearing my Michelin Man suit)
• Blowing bubbles
• Making razzing sounds
• “Popeye face”–hides upper lip and sticks out bottom lip when gummies are bothering her
• Starting to understand cause and effect aside from just crying=mom/dad come (i.e. pulling on elephant=music will play)
• Starting to sit up with less support
• Scratching at different surfaces
• Splashing around in tub
• Sleeping on side sometimes at night
• Scooting forward while on tummy
• Rubbing eyes when sleepy

Other Activity:

• Still nurses an average of 8x/day (with a few longer feedings than previous months)
• Goes to bed between 8:00-9:00pm
• Typically sleeps 5-7 hours before waking up to eat, then goes back to sleep for another 3-5 hours
• Usually naps during our morning walk, then takes a 2-3 hour nap around 2pm in crib
