Scarlett is 3 months old today!
Weight/Height: Won’t know until her 4 month check-up
Loves:
- Talking in gurgles, coos, and squeals;
- Sucking on thumbie or 2-3 fingers at once;
- Listening to music (Raffi radio, classical, big band);
- Bath time;
- Being pushed around in her bassinet when she is cranky;
- Playing on her alphabet zoo mat
- Kisses–especially tummy kisses, they make her laugh!;
- Being held on mommy or daddy’s right shoulder–helps her calm down/fall asleep;
- Looking at the pictures in books that mommy or daddy reads to her;
- Moving–loves kicking her legs and flailing her arms;
- Taking naps on mommy or daddy;
- Going for walks in her stroller if it’s not too hot;
- Car rides in her car seat always put her to sleep;
- Starting to enjoy looking at her reflection in the mirror and pictures on the phone;
- Cooking with daddy;
- Dancing with mommy;
- Watching her mobile in her big girl crib;
- Looking at lights/ceiling fans (daddy is convinced this will cause blindness)
Dislikes:
- Mamaroo;
- Tummy time–although she tolerates it a lot better than before;
- Getting her nose suctioned with the Nosefrida
Activity:
- Requires more entertainment, primarily on her play mat grabbing the animals (and putting them in her mouth if within reach), watching the mobile in her crib, being read to, listening to music and singing/dancing with mommy
- Makes a variety of sounds–gurgling, cooing, squealing, laughing
- Tolerates tummy time for longer periods–can lift head about 45 degrees when on tummy, can push her chest up a little with her arms
- Usually only cries in the late afternoon or evening when tired and/or hungry
- Feeds an average of 7-8 times per day
- Sleeps an average of 5-9 hours at night (most often 6 hours) before waking up to feed
- Takes around 4-5 naps each day–usually one long one in the afternoon (2 hours or so) and the others 30-60 minutes
- Will look at you from across the room and follow you with her eyes; can switch focus from one person to another much quicker
- Puts weight on her legs when you stand her up
- Coos along while mommy sings to her sometimes
- Can scoot her body clockwise in a circle while on her play mat
- Lifts her head upright for long periods of time when holding her and will turn her head to look around the room (usually in search of a ceiling fan!)
- Has grasped her toes with her hands when on her back
A few more pictures, because the outtakes were just too cute not to share:
“Give me three fingers of Whiskey.”
“Hey, and make it clean.”
“Capiche?”
“Do I have to spell it out for you?”
“Yeah, it’ll be nap time for you.”
We just can’t get enough of the cutest baby in the world,when I hear grandpa say ” come see!” We really start the day off with a huge smile,want to hug and get that tummy! You sure know how to be great parents,to a beautiful,contented ,lucky little girl!!!!
