Twelve weeks old!

scarlett12weeks This Week I…

  • Went 24 hours without crying!
  • Starting to get tired (and therefore fussy) earlier–new bedtime is around 9:30pm
  • Sleep 6-9 hours at night on average before waking up to feed
  • Eat an average of 7x/day for 10-15 min. (usually with one longer one thrown in)
  • Haven’t been talking as much–instead I’m concentrating on trying to control the rest of my body (I’m going to roll over any day now!)
  • Slowly shedding some hair in the back

Eleven weeks old today!

I’m grabbing things with both hands, often in order to put those things in my mouth.

Ten Weeks

I am ten weeks old today–finally double-digits:)

scarletttenweeksThis week I…

  • I’m starting to tolerate tummy time better–I can go for longer periods of time instead of immediately crying
  • I’m really starting to lift my head to look around (especially at lights and ceiling fans) while being carried on Mom or Dad’s shoulder
  • I enjoy “singing” along with Mommy and making a lot of different sounds
  • I’m starting to enjoy grabbing for things and putting them in my mouth (burp clothes, the dress in the above picture, mom and dad’s shirts, blankets, and especially my hands)
  • Had my first shots at the doctor:( I really didn’t like it when it was happening, but I recovered really well! I was very sleepy for a few days afterwards though
  • Got to visit with Aunt Jessica, Uncle Greg, & cousin Liam
  • I was baptized with my cousin Liam on Sunday, July 12th!

At my two-month doctor checkup, I weighed 12 lbs. 9 oz. and measured 22.5 inches long!

Two Months

Happy 4th of July! Scarlett is 2 months old today:)

Weighs: 12 lbs. 9 oz.

Measures: 22.5 inches

Head: 15 inches

Loves:

  • Raffi radio (especially “Down By the Bay” and “Willaby Wallaby Woo”)
  • Carseat
  • Looking at ceiling fans/lights
  • Watching intently as mommy and daddy talk to her
  • Batting at Mo the monkey, Leopold the lion, Zeb the zebra, and Wally the whale on her play mat
  • “Talking” (she tries really hard to say “hello”)
  • Being held–preferably on mommy & daddy’s right shoulder as they walk around bouncing me or sleeping on their chests while they are sitting is also acceptable
  • Sucking my thumbie
  • Bath time
  • Being naked on changing table

Dislikes:

  • Gas (bicycling her legs helps!)
  • Being hungry
  • Tummy time
  • Not being near mommy or daddy at all times

Activity:

  • Starting to lift head more, especially when being held
  • Batting at objects, i.e. animals on play mat
  • Grasping things and holding on to them
  • Baby talk, tries to mimic sounds mom & dad make (“hello”)
  • Smiles a lot when being talked to
  • Good eye contact and can follow your gaze if you move
