Eight weeks old today!

This Week I…

• Slept through the night for the first time! Last Thursday (6/25/15) I slept 9 hours from 11pm to 8am, and I did it the next night too from 10pm to 7am
• Attended my first birthday party! (Willa-Rose’s 1st birthday)
• My baby acne cleared up (but not before I managed to scratch a few pimples causing them to bleed while trying to put my thumb in my mouth:)
• The fresh fuzz that sprouted on my head last week continues to grow
• Mom & dad noticed two cute little dimples on either side of my mouth when I’m talking
• Speaking of talking, I really, really sound like I’m saying “hello” even though I’m probably not;)
• I’m finally starting to slow down on my daily meals–averaging about 8 feeds per day (instead of 12)
• I have longer awake periods throughout the day aside from when I’m eating
• Still enjoy listening to Raffi songs (and so does Daddy–he really likes “Down By the Bay” and “Willaby Wallaby”)
• I like playing on my alphabet jungle mat a few times a day where I love to bat at monkey, zebra, lion, & whale and kick my legs
• I still don’t like tummy time, unless I’m on my tummy napping on Mommy’s chest;)

June 15th, 2015

Six weeks old today:)

What’s new this week:

• I have been going a little longer between feedings–about every 2-3 hours
• I slept for 5 hours straight one night this week (my longest time yet!), and for 4 hours a few nights
• I’m continuing to “talk” more and love having “googoo gaga” conversations with mama & dada
• I’m starting to grasp things more–especially mommy & daddy’s clothing (p.s. my baby nails are really sharp, even after they’ve been trimmed)
• I have some fresh fuzz growing on my head!
• My eyelashes are growing
• I love listening to Raffi radio and singing and dancing with Mommy
• I’m even more smiley this week:-)
• I’ve started to outgrow some of my newborn clothes:(

I am 5 weeks old today!

This week I started social smiling and I am “talking” more (cooing, gurgling) and try to mimic Mommy and Daddy’s facial expressions. I have just started to outgrow a few of my newborn clothes, too.

I turned one month old on June 4th!

Scarlett is one month old today!

At one month, Scarlett…

Weighs: 10 lbs. 6 oz. (80th percentile!)

Length: 21.5 inches (60th percentile)

Loves: Eating, nap time (especially on Mommy & Daddy’s chest), being naked, bath time, her car seat, being held or near Mommy or Daddy at all times, listening to music, holding hands (grasping fingers:), prefers having arms free when sleeping

Dislikes: Being hungry, the Mamaroo (for the most part), barking Buddy, cold hands (usually Daddy’s)

Activity: Can lift head for short periods of time, is very active when placed on her tummy–even appears to be attempting push-ups;), gives good eye contact and follows people with her eyes, loves to kick and wave arms around when getting diaper changed, makes a lot of different sounds ranging from squealing like a velociraptor, chirping like a baby chick, grumbling like a grizzly bear, happy sighing/purring sound when holding her while asleep

Nicknames: Bunny, Cuppycake, Chicklet, You Baby, Scarwitt, Milkface, Honey

I am 4 weeks old today!

This Week I…

• Still nursing approximately 12 times each day, but starting to nurse for longer periods (between 10-30 minutes)
• Still going to bed around 11:30pm and waking up consistently around 2:30am and 5:30am to eat
• Have been rocking the George Constanza hairline since last week:)
• Getting a few more baby pimples
• Have been spitting up more
• Give smiles when I’m sleeping and sometimes when I’m awake
• I’m at my cutest and happiest while getting my diaper changed and love to kick my chubby little legs and wave my arms around–Mommy & Daddy never thought changing diapers would be one of their favorite things to do:)
• I prefer being upright or on my side when I’m napping (under Mom & Dad’s supervision of course!)
• I have taken a few naps in the Mamaroo with the sound on but the motion off
• I don’t mind my carseat–Daddy even rocks me in it sometimes while him and Mommy are eating dinner
• I’m very strong and have been able to lift my head about 45 degrees since birth for a few seconds at a time, I also like to crawl up Mommy & Daddy’s chest and attempt to do push-ups during tummy time
• Prefer being held or near Mommy or Daddy at all times
• Starting to focus on faces and follow people with my eyes even more
